Default New crate 4.6L DOHC- '96-98

I haven't had much luck on Google, and there don't seem to be any vendors in the supporting vendors list that have a brand new crate 4.6L DOHC from a 96 Cobra for sale.

Where can I find something like this?

I find a lot of 302's and 5.0 cammer... But, can't seem to find the 4.6L.

Anyone know a good company?

Thanks, guys.

Sean Hyland is one of the best in the business when it comes to the mod motor. However, he is extremely expensive and takes forever to deliver.

Hmm, I was looking for something a little more in the $4-6K price range for a stock motor. I don't need the 600 hp model... Well, OK, That's a lie. I DO need that, but my pocket book disagrees.

I've talked to several shops willing to rebuild the engine and warranty it for several years for $3-4K. I was looking for a comparable, crate option to consider.

You can buy the 2003/04 Mach motor fully assembled ready to drop in for about $6k brand new. It has absolutely everything attatched to it. Just get your ecu reprogrammed and plug/play! It has the newer more efficient head design and you can get more power for less $$$$. My local Ford dealership said 3days for me to pick one up when I was looing to get a new motor.

Have you checked the FRPP Aluminator short block? MMR also has some good short blocks priced according to your desired power level. In any event, you will have a hard time finding a crate motor (long block) with your heads (93-98 B-heads) installed. In case you aren't aware, your intake will not fit any 99-up 4V heads.

I see, interesting. Thanks guys.

So, to verify, I can get ready-to-go newer 4.6L motor and drop it in and it will connect to the older wiring and tranny, etc... with no problems?

I was going to get the ECU flashed anyway to take some stuff off, so it isn't an issue to have that done.
