03 saleen vs 03 cobra.

03 saleen vs 03 cobra.
I have been in the market for a low milage cobra, and came accross a dark red 03 saleen with 3,000 miles on it for 32,000 bucks. I know its a little highly priced, but im not worried about that at all. My question is, should i settle for the 03 saleen, or get an 03 04 cobra?

Id take an 03 s281e over an 03 Cobra but not a s281.
Saleen dark red color not so great imo. If your getting a race car go with the Cobra you can make great numbers with little money.If your trying to impress the chicks get the Saleen but don't get all upset when you get spanked by a neon just sayin..

What is the saleen's engine capable of?
1. 2003 S281 SC....basically a GT motor with a Series IV Supercharger (Whipple) and basic upgrades. Figure low to mid-400's with a solid tune.
2. 2003 S281 Extreme....I'm still trying to find out
. I've seen one (here in Atlanta) that Modular Powerhouse, same folks that did my work,got to 604 safely. I'm sitting at 440/484 right now. I'm cams and some minor tweaks away from the 500's.For the money I've put into mine so far.....you would have a more stout 2003 Cobra for the same money. Stock 2003 Cobra vs. stock 2003 Extreme....close race. Window sticker against window sticker....let's not talk about that
but at the same time your just paying for a body kit and the saleen logo
See below for everything that Saleen did to a Mustang to turn it into an Extreme. Granted, the Extreme gets a true overhaul (at a hefty price)....but even base model Saleens get, exhaust, suspension, brakes sometimes, interior, etc...

Moot....I know people sometimes throw a response out there with a different intent than what it reads like. The body kit and the logos aren't the only things that make Saleens.
