Proper Jack Stand placement
Since the search isnt working, and I do not seem to be able to get the proper search string into Google...
Where is the proper (safe) placement for jack stands on a 2001 Cobra? I know where the pinch points are for changing tires, and am familiar with where it is lifted while on a lift. But was curious what the proper placement was for the IRS and how others were holding their cars up.

I personally don't like the pinch welds at all. They tend to fold over after a while and can fold over when you have your car up on jack stands. I'm definately OCD when it comes to safety when I'm under the car. I jack the car up just enough with a cheesmo jack on the pinch weld up front enough so I cn get me bad azz jack under the front K-member just in front of the oil pan. I place 2 jack stands, one on each of the back bolt area of the control arms. There a flat part there that is part of the main frame of the car. It's solid! As far as the back goes, I jack the car up again enough to get a jack under the pumpkin on the rear end. I put jack stands on a flat area which is just in front of the rear tires. That is what I do for my 97 cobra which is a solid axle. It's the area where the lower control arms are bolted into. I'm not sure if you have that or not.
I would def not use your pinch welds for jack stands. Best bet is to get yourself some 1"x2" steel tubing and have it welded behind your pinch weld for a jacking rail. I have kenny brown's matrix subframe set-up and it works awesome. I use that is I just want to lift one side of the car, ofcourse I can lift 3 tires from one spot with that set-up!
You can jack the car up and the slide rhino ramps under neath the tires, this will bring the car up a bit and you won't have to eeven use jack stands, but only if you can leave your tires on for the work you need to do?
