Default 03 Turbo Cobra engine problems... help please

Hey everyone I just bought an 03' cobra with a 76mm Helion kit on it and it has some problems. I bought it knowing this and have most of them worked out and took her for a road test today and had a big problem. What is going on is that in every gear no matter if I punch it or gradually ease it up in RPM it always stops at 5200 RPMs and then bounces back and forth between 5200 and 5000 RPMs almost like there is a rev limiter.

We had it working yesterday and for the heck of me I cant figure out what might be the problem and the only thing that changed between now and then is that we were doing some burnouts in her testing out a local tracks wetbox so I am lookin for some help here.

It was shipped from Tennessee (1200ft above sea lvl) to Maryaland (100ft above sea lvl) so I am going to get her re-tuned but since she was running fine yesterday I am thinking it might be something that came loose, broke, or something of that sort.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks a mil,
James

It sounds like it'seither your tune, fuel system or MAF.

Your car isn't getting enough fuel or enough air at those high rpms and the motor is pulling back to stop you from blowing it apart. Which means, it sounds like somethings wrong with your fuel system, your MAF maybe pegged/malfunctioning or it just may need a better tune.

Now something you might want to check that's easy... when my alternator was dieing it choked me in the upper rpms of my 03' cobra when I had it. Might want to check that as well

I had the same problem in my 96 Cobra. Although it is n/a I had it dyno tuned and it was running like crap warmed over on the dyno and had way low numbers. Im talking below stock and its got cams and various other mods. COme to find out the MAF was tuned wrong and was dirty so the tuner recalibrated the MAF and cleaned it and it ran like a champ.

If you can't hear anything or find any loose connections doubt that some thing broke I think getting it to the dyno ASAP is your best bet. Looking at your mods doesn't look as though you should be running out of fuel or air unless tune is off. How much boost were you running when it started dying out on you?

I don't think it's fuel/MAF. That BA should take whatever you throw at it and the return style setup should be plenty of muscle. Pull your plugs and see what theyre gapped at and what they look like. Could be spark blowout.
