Default questions about 04 cobra

whats up guys..im thinkin about buyin this 04 cobra, but it seems like the car is beat to death. it has 43k on it and the tranny was already rebuilt and whoever tuned it didnt know what they were doin because the car doesnt idle right. but the motor looks dirty for only having 43k. but the car is cheap. i just dont want to be stuck with a lemon. what do you guys think?

I would have to think, "how cheap is cheap!" AND how much you want to put into it $$$....If the body & interior looks good and if the car felt strong, I might then maybe go for it.

But basically from what you have described, I'd pass....Good luck as there are a lot of other 03-04 Cobra's out there

...let us know how you make out! ..what is the $$$

i can buy the car for 17 grand and yes the body and paint is nice, the interior is nice but the drivers seat needs help but other than that its a nice car..but compared to all the other cobras for sale here in ct 17k is cheap, all the others are 21k or more with more miles too

I guess you have to tell yourself / Is it going to cost $4,000 (+ tax) OR more to fix this car?? + your time & energy....I would look around a little more, EVEN if you had to travel a few hours to look at....I've seen a few on craigslist in my area for a good price ($20k) & 25k-30k mile range...

if it's only going to cost a grand to fix...I would go for it, Cobra will hold its value....Good luck!!

...no telling with problems down the road for any car...

I say no. The car is prob. beat to death like you said. If you need to save up for another year or so and find yourself a mint low mile one. It took me 4 months to find the rite one. My car only has 12k orig miles on it. There is a reason why that cobra is only 17k$ and that is beacause it is prob. garbage. Take your time finding one and travel for one.

If you know it's got a bad tune, and someone rode it hard enough to need a tranny rebuild so soon, that car is bound to be jacked under it all. I'd pass.
