so yesterday i got my car back from a shop we had look at it about it's starting problems (it starts sometimes and sometimes not). so i drive it around for the day and it starts and stops no probs. i got to my gf's house and try to leave and it won't start, so we get jumper cables which had previously been all i needed to get it started and they didn't work, now the battery is not dead cause all the light turn on and stuff. i roll start it no prob and drive it home, turn it off and turn it right back on, so i turn it off again and try to turn it on but it's a no go. so i jack it up and check the battery and everything is good, i drove it for about 30 mins so i know it's charged up. the connetions to the starter are tight too. so i try to start it again and it's a no go so i bang on the starter and it slowly start when i try, but i shut it off and try again and it's a no go again.
this morning i went back out and it started up and i re-did that about 10 times and it started every time.
what do you guys think the problem is, i'm saying some connection in the starter or something?

i've had all that tested and it all comes back fine, it's just sometimes it won't start. i just found out too that ford has issued a kit for a wire that's get easily corroded that powers the starter.
could something like that cause my problem?
if the alternator was bad i wouldn't be able to drive it very far, but once i get it started i can drive it just like normal, so i don't think it's that.

check your battery cables make sure they are tight a loose cable causes this symptom check the obvious grounds on the fender and engine block, if everything is ok then i would start looking at the starter wires for corrosion or swelling if its swelling its a sign of corrosion under the insulation, repair wires first, if theres no wires it sounds like u have a bad starter i.e. some dead armatures would cause it to not start some times
