Lightbulb 96 Cobra

Local dealership a few miles away from me is selling a really mint 1996 Cobra. Emailed a representative and told me it was "on sale" for $10500 without tax/tags. I can't see myself dropping that much on an almost 13 year old car with 71k miles. What do you guys think? Should I try to talk him down? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...eadExists=true Thanks.

He emailed me asking what price I think I should pay, but I'm not sure. I'd like to say less than 9k but I want to be reasonable

Sounds like a decent deal but I'd still talk him down. Chances are its been there a little while so he'll just try to get rid of it. Took a look at; looks pretty nice. Hows under the hood look?

Dude I paid 7 for my 98 with 100k on it

the way the economy is the prices of our cars are wayyyy down. If you pay more than 8 for that car your gettin robbed.

I wouldn't pay anything over 8k for that car. They are asking way to much for it.

looks nice. i agree, no more than 7, or 8 if you wanna stretch a little. but imho, i would go with the newer cobra.. i mean if your gonna go in debt, might as well get what you really want (assuming you even DO want a terminator)

i know that last time i bought a car, i bought an lt1 trans am because i didnt want to dump a few more thousand on the ls1 car i really wanted. and i regretted it after the "new factor" wore off of the trans am. sure i still loved it but i sure wished i'd gotten the ls1, instead of playin performance catch up just to MATCH the stock potential of the next step up vehicle.

just my 2 cents, lol. even if u dont like the new cobras. thats just some wisdom for anyone thinkin of gettin a car

I don't plan on putting much into it. Seven or eight thousand won't put me in debt, however, $20k+ would lol. This car will be the first I've purchased with my own money. Just want something to get me back and forth to college, etc. while looking good. The Saturn isn't fun at all to drive, nor do I look good driving it either lol. Late 90s Mustangs are my favorite. Another dealer just sold a 98 Cobra for around $10k, saw the kid who bought it at school.
