Ok so i just bought an 03 yellow Cobra with 38k miles for 22,500 seemed like a good deal since it was from the dealer. i just couldnt stand throwing money into my GT and not getting much out of it is i just went out an grabbed the best condition cobra i could find in my area (NY). the cobra was owned by an old guy who traded it in for a new GT500, the car had a folder with everything, original window sticker, SVT certificate, all of its maintains receipts, i mean everything and it was never in an accident. I've only driven about 200miles since sept, and i really wana start working on this beast. i was looking for some ball park number on how much power can this motor make with different setup (tubro,S/C,Nitrous,etc..) without having to open up the engine and upgrade the heads and valvetrain. i know the short block is forged and can handle lots of power buy how restrictive are the stock heads and whats the highest number (RWHP) achieved with the stock heads.......thanks to any replies, and i guess im a noob now but im trying to learn about this car as much as i can before i put money into it. thanks again guys.

A guy i know here is making 1004 rwhp on stock heads and motor right now. IMO that is pushing the limits big time. 700-800 is pretty attainable though. my car has been overbored and has after market pistons and rings but stock crank and rods. Stock heads with upgraded head studs. It made 763 hp and 822 tq. I am looking to bump up the boost here at some point though and max out the set up.

But, your heads are fine. That being said it is one of the real weaknesses of the car; but it's not due to the restriction. It's due to the cooling inadequacies of the head and coolant system; flawed design.

You can have a daily driven 03/04 running 700-800rwhp... without any issues. Just have to make sure you have a good tune, and proper supporting mods.
