I'm really interested in buying a Cobra.

Basically I'm trying to buy champagne on a beer budget.

I found a 99 Cobra that was supercharged with 124,000 miles on it for $8000

Is it worth buying?

 

I wouldn't with those miles on it. Does the engine have forged internals or is it a rebuilt engine? Ford modular motors aren't that strong past 120,000 N/A and with a supercharger the engine life is even shorter. I may offer him 6k but realize you will likely need a new forged motor + expense of pulling current motor+expense of dropping in the forged. likely looking at 10K more after initial purchase. I speak from experience. I bought mine with 96K and within 5K ahad a cylinder go and rings were shot. Cost me nearly 10K. Examine the engine completely, or better yet bring it to a speed shop you can trust and have them check it out. Leak down/compression test at shop for any problems with Heads or cylinders. That engine is about "done" I can almost guarantee it if it is original engine and not a rebuild. Again learn from my mistake please

But how much is ur budget you can spend on a car?? You paying cash or you wanna finance?

Never say you can't because I'm only 20 n my cars I had a current one are in my sig.

 

I'm gonna be financing. I'm only 18 with basically no credit and 10k is probably my limit. And everyone other one I have found around here are 14k up except for this 98 Cobra but I read they only have about 250hp and the newer ones have about 320 minus the super charger.

250hp is for the 95 cobra with the 5.0. 96-98 I believe have 305. Why don't you go for a 96-98 or go get yourself a nice fox body n build the crap out of it?
