I've been looking for so long, I think I'm gonna pursue this one and call the dealership tomorrow. Thanks for the advice everyone!
thats not a good way to go about buying a new car. why spend a lot of money on something that you really dont want?

ive bought things that i really didnt want because it was convenient and have come out disappointed many more times than ive come out happy.

uhm the motors are pretty much completely different... to my knowledge cams/heads among other things.. also 2 years newer ha ha...

They have more torque, equal rwhp, better powerband, better gearing, and a couple hundred pounds lighter.. They're around a half second faster.

And no.. the 2003/2004 Cobras come with 3.55 gears too; however, something tells me that the blower on the Cobra is more reason why the car is faster then anything else, lol..

Oh and for the record.. That's fine this isn't a SVT.. I already had my SVT, lol... it was a great car, but I actually like the look a lot better... just wish it had the same power level as my 03' Cobra did, lol

From what I remember reading the cobra had the better bottom end and the machs had a better top end, same as the 03 cobra minus the blower. But I thought the machs only came with like 300 or 305 hp. Maybe they have a better drivetrain and obviously a better suspension are able to get more to the wheels?

The mach 1 could have a better bottom end; but the Cobra isn't better.. it doesn't have the gearing. If the mach 1 had the 3.27 gearing than maybe.... but no the Mach 1 doesn't have the same parts as a 03' Cobra.

The Machs were underrated; they really put down around 320bhp like the older Cobras... with just more torque and a better power curve...

better suspension, there's more than just straight line driving(IRS)

Cobra ... my Mach 1 handles better then my Cobra... but then again 500rwhp going around corners isn't easy to handle... lol...

But, the 99/01 Cobra has even sloppier IRS then the Terminator and it's not as strong.. it's not a very great IRS system... When it comes to the Ford IRS; i'd rather have the built 8.8... The little bit you give up in cornering is worth the weight savings imo..

Well that, and personally I prefer the ride type of a SRA versus IRS.. but that's just my opinion.

I've had both, and I have to say, regarding ride comfort and driveability, the IRS is much better than my built SRA...

Anyways, yes a Mach 1 > 01 Cobra...

Yeah I decided to pass, I thought about it and a vert just isn't for me. I still owe $2700 on my GT anyway, hell it's a 2000 and only got 56K on the dial and in perfect condition, so I'll still get something for it in the future. If this car had been in town I would have checked it out but I'm afraid if I drove 150 miles I would feel the urge to buy to justify the ride. I will have a Cobra one day, one day. I heard about this word "patience"...I don't know what that is but I'm gonna look into it. Thanks again for all the advice.
