Default Supercharger install cost

I was recently cosidering buying a Vortec supercharger for my 97 cobra but after talking with E.L.D Performance (Millersville Md) on the install price I think I've changed my mind. They are saying at least 2600.00 to install the supercharger. That's more then I was going to pay for a complete (used) kit. Is that the going price?

whoa thats too freekin much bro! WTF! are they like some regular mechanics shop or somthing. you should try and find a place with enthusiast or a speed or performance shop i heard people round here getting it done for less than a 1000 around 850 who you talk to it is no longer that complicated, unless you just buy the supercharger and they have to custom build pipes and etc. i just don see it costing that much.

yeah thats exessive, some kits you could probably just install yourself, or find some friends who know more than you and have them help you, more fun that way and its free

+1 on doing it yourself! thats way to much. have you and some of your buddies help you it really is not that hard. should take a full day but it will be worth it in the end.

Thanks for the replies. I thought that price was rediculous. E.L.D was on pinks last year in Md. I don't know if you recall the race but they were racing a white mustang that blew the drive shaft and someone there let them take one off their car so they could race again. A guy name Brian used to own it but I think he sold the shop. My car will not go there for repair. If anyone knows a good trusted shop in Md please let me know. I'm sure I could do it but I think I would rather have someone do it that has done it before and knows what their doing. I've had the car over two years now but don't really know to many guys that have the cobra. Maybe I should join a mustang club.
