Default Need advice please

Admins, if this the wwrong section for this type of content, I am sorry.

Hello fello mustang owners (2006 GT here). I am a newbie here but I have a very important question.

My sister's husband unexpectedly passed away a couple of weeks ago at the young age of 42. My sister now has his 1996 red Mustang Cobra. This car has just under 4,xxx original miles and it is mint as they come. He was so **** about this car that he had a car bag made and he would drive this cobra into it and then zip it up. This is cobra has a standard transmission and my sister never learned how to drive a stick, so she will never drive it, and I do not need it. The car is paid off so she is not hurting for money at all but she was talking about selling it.
This car has never seen rain or snow. Since my mustang is a newer model and not a cobra, I have no clue what this car is worth but I thought maybe someone on here could give me a ball park figure so that I can tell her what to expect.

My sister said she would not sell it until she hears back from me and if you need any more info about it, just ask me and I will ask her.

Thanks everyone for your time,

Mike

i know i hear people talking about picking up cobras between 95-99 for 6-10k or so. given that the car has under 4,000 miles on it i would bet you could get over 10 pretty easily.

Welcome! ...and sorry for your loss! ...No reason why you can't get $10K + for the Cobra! ...in better times you could get more $$$....might be better to hold the car for a while! ...sorry again

my friend paid just over 7,000 for his 95 GT with just over 50,000. A cobra with under 4, like everyone else has said, hold on to it and wait untill the economy gets better and people are willing to spend the money on toys and sell it for 10K plus.

Your best bet would be to put it on ebay or contact a car collector.

i think thats $15,000 easy, a mint sn-95 cobra with under5k org miles? Like they said though, hold onto it, the value will do nothing but increase, just make sure you start it up occasionally and such, dont just let it sit for too long.

sorry about your loss, have a collector appraise it, im sure it has all the paperwork the SVT certificate and dealer window sticker, worth well over 10K id hold onto it for awhile and wait til the time is right to sell, but ebay is your best bet theres some old man out there somewhere that will buy it and take just as good of care of it.

Thank you to everyone for the replies. I was talking with my sister last night and she said she decided not to sell the car and she will kept it adn give it to her son but remain the owner of it so he could never sell it.

I was hoping she would not sell it as she really does not need to and especially in this economy I know she would not get her best price for it.

Thanks again, and have a wonderful day everyone!!!!!
