Default Help!!

Ok, so I never said I was a master mechanic, lets get that out of the way haha although I do try. SO, I have a coolant leak, sometimes it's no so bad but I drive about 30 miles to work and it leaks a bit. On the back side of the engine, above where the starter sits there is a black plastic/metal(?) peice that now has coolant coming out of it. It looks like it may have been dented when I put the header in and now it leaks. Does anyone know what this is?? I need to get this fixed to be able to drive the car, it leaks right down onto the header and smokes extremely bad when it pours out. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I think I could probably replace the cap if I knew what kinda da*n cap to get! haha Thanks guys!

It's a really crappy day today, probably not today. It's on the passenger side just incase anyone didn't get that with the starter thing. haha I have no clue what it is to be honest.

i also cant visualize it did it get pinched between the fire wall and engine or was it the header that dented it or a strap...just trying to figure this out alittle more

Sounds like a head or engine cap...perhaps you can add a bottle Bars leak as a temporary fix!

Well, if it isn't raining tomorrrow (or maybe even if it is) i'll be finding out what it is and fixing it. It's really nice to know that I have somewhere to come for questions on things like this. I didn't get any answers anywhere else. Thanks guys!

please dont use stop leak unless your in a serious pinch that stuff does more harm then good. anyways try calling up ford or going to ford and get a parts diagram for that side of the engine, unfortunately if its on one of the water pipes you may have damaged the pipe and need a new pipe

Lol yeah, I know, I have the Haynes book and it's not in there and I asked them and they didn't have a clue what it was.
