hey i found the article i have it saved to MS word, i dont have the link it came from anymore...i really dont wanna post the huge article on her if you wanna pm me your email i will send it as an attachment...

Default tensioner

hey i know this is a pretty old thread...but is there any way you could send me the the email with an attachment for replacing a timing chain tensioner on the 4v motors. My email is flyry03@aim.com

Whatever you do, don't drive until you get it fixed. They can give out any time. Mine was ticking just a little and Ford looked at it, said it was the tensioner, and I was fine to drive9that was free advice). Well, the motor locked up on me on the way home. The timing chain can jump any time when the tensioner is ticking. Just got mine running 3 days ago. Be careful. I don't want you to feel as dumb as I did.

alrighty well it's been driving fine...it goes away after it warms up some...but my question is can it be done without dropping the k member and motor out from the bottom?
