looking at getting a 1998 cobra
as you can see i have a 89 mustang 5.0. she's my little dragster project and is all torn apart. i'm getting tired of my 05' f150. i wanted to trade it for a 1998 cobra. can you tell me anything about these cars?
as far as i understand they are 4v with abotu 305 hp. right? what kind of times do they run stock?
about how much should i look at spending for a stockish one. how do these mod motors handle lots of miles? what would be some good milage to look at or stay under?
anything in particular that should be modded first on mod motors?
any other input please feel free to educate me. i really love the look of these cars.

I wan't even try to answer all your questions,I kept both my Cobras stock.
When the 98 model year came out I bought a left over 97 convert for my wife,I also bought a 98 coupe for my self.
Both cars were maintained properly,we drove them hard with no problems.
Looking back I wish I had kept both of them.
If you find a clean low milage one you will love it,they are great cars.

305hp is correct. I seen one at the track last summer in a intake and catback run a 13.5
Price will reflect the type of condition it is in and the miles. I would expect to pay about $8-12.5k
These motors can handle alot of miles. Just make sure you take car of the car and do a good tune up when you buy one. It all cases you want to get as low of miles as you can. Since it will be your DD/everyday car I would try to find one under 45k miles (Its possible search ebay) you also have to be willing to travel for a good deal.
The the first I would do if I had a 98 cobra would be: CAI, Longtubes, Mid-pipe & Catback.
mine ran a 13.7 on street tires with an O/R X pipe and flowmaster 40 series.
305crank hp is correct, there fun cars, pretty easy to maintain, pretty expensive to mod but you won't really need to do too much since u got the drag car for fun.
