Speedo question
I got a ticket for speeding and the clerk said I could get it calibrated and get it reduced to defective equip. I have a 98 so I know it's gear driven, I also have 4.10 gears and the tuner. Using the tuner wouldn't help throw the speedometer off any since its gear driven right? I need a way to throw it off a bit so I can sucessfully get the defective equip and not the 6 points they wanna throw on my license. Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

you'll have to raise the gearing, on your tuner, program it for 23" overall wheels with tires and for 4.30 gearing.
you can try that, cause it wont hurt.
if it doesnt work, switch back to stock gearing but leave the speedo gear the way it is for the 4.10's, then when you take it in for calibration, you can just pretend like you just bought it this way, otherwise they'll think your a retard.

98 cobra speedo recalibrate
I have this problem with my 98 Cobra. The previous owner installed 4:10 gears, and did not recall the speedo, so it's off by 10 mph. I've been using my GARMIN to tell how fast I'm going, but it would be nice to be able to just look and the real gauge. I have a superchip tuner that came with the car, but it doesn't have tire or gear options.
Whats the easiest way to fix this error. My old 87 notch was easy, it was just two plastic gears!
