Default rod selection

I bought a 99 cobra and wish to force induct it, but i have read that the rods cannot handle over 420 hp very well. what is the advantage of I beem rods over H beem rods over the 550 hp threshhold. obviosly I understand the
manufacturer and material aspects. i don't understand the structural differance in design.

Here is an I beam rod:

Here is an H beam rod:

Forged H beam rods are better than forged I beam rods. HOWEVER, billet I beam rods are stronger than forged H beam rods... There are no Billet H beams...

lol the thought of billet h beams makes me giggle because that would be a power level that is ungodly.

oh and if ur forging the rods do pistons too, you would be an idiot not to, your crankshaft is already forged.

You should be able to pick of a used set of 03/04 Manley Forged H Beam Connecting Rods for pretty cheap. They will work with your motor.
