Default Evans NPG+

Is it worthwhile to switch over to NPG+ or is this a waste of money on a more or less stock engine? Is anybody using this product?

Well it's hard to justify on a stock motor because while the coolant itself can be had for under 150 bucks (enough for a whole cooling system), Evans "recommends" you buy the water pump/radiator/thermostat housing/etc...to make the whole system more efficient. I recently thought about doing this because when you realize how a cooling system works, the Evans stuff is truly amazing and DOES reduce detonation possibilites due to overheating. With no water also means little to no pressure, so the coolant is far superior to water based coolant. The cost didn't justify the switch for me anyway...at least not right now.

I talked to the guys at Evans on the phone. You don't need to trade any parts on our vehicles, just do a chemical flush removing the frost plugs (it has to be a 'complete' drain and flush) then add the NPG+ as with any other fluid. Main thing is to have less than 3% water on an aluminum engine. I believe an iron block need less than 5%.

Yeah they told me that too...right before they said we HIGHLY recommend buying the other stuff. Of course it's not necessary. Just do research before you spend any cash.
