Pistons are available in .010" and .020" over stock. Most people just bore it out to .020" if they are going to buy pistons anyway.

.020 is the correct size. You're going from a 3.552 inch bore to a 3.572 inch bore. If it's scored really bad, a .020 might not even fix it. New 99+ blocks can be found cheap. Might as wel just start with a fresh block. And for the record the 99+ don't have the Teksid block. They have a WAP block.

Also the displacement goes from 281 ci - 284 ci with a .020 over bore.

I'm not arguing with you but I'm bring another point to the table. There is alot of 99 Cobra guys that have a Teksid block. There was a thread about a year ago on SVTperformance and it was amazing how many 99 Cobra guys had one even though we where always told that 98 was the last year.

I haven't heard that before. It could be true I suppose, so I won't say yay or nay either way...lol.

But on the record books from Ford, the 99+ came factory with the WAP aluminum block. You could always just reference the part number.

WAP iron blocks have a big W cast in the valley, and one more on the front - dunno if this was true of the AL blocks or not.....
Early Teksid blocks used a "jack screw" to pre-load the side of the main caps, but in 99 all blocks used a straight, single-use bolt.
Teksid blocks = F6LZ-6010-AB, not sure if there were others but that's what's on the 98-98 Cobras and 93-98 Lincolns.
99+ Teksid blocks = XR3Z-6010-CA
01+ are all WAP

WAP valleys have a slew of ribs (like 14) - Teksids have 6

WAP block weigh 80 pounds, Teksids 85.

There are other differences but would require a side-by-side comparo unless you really know the blocks well. (thicker oil pan rails and main bearing webs on WAP)
