an 02 Vette has more base power than a 99 though, doesn't it?

I still think the 03 Cobra will win...I've seen them take out 03 Z06s.

I think it is really going to come down to who can drive. I have seen fixed roof coupe vettes (this was the predecessor to the z06) run 12.60's completely stock, but man the guy could drive. I have seen cobra convertibes stock run back to back 12.90's, but once again the guy could drive. Yes the 02 is rated to have 5 more ponies than the 99. I have seen cobras take out z06's also but the z driver was horrible. I ran my buddies z at the track w/ me driving in turned 12.02-12..22 that was with dragradials and nothing more. When he drove it the best it would run was 12.85. But once again I drove it like I stole it. My buddy's 03 cobra has gone 12.98 completely stock on a slippery track. His best 60 was 2.08

If a Stock SVT Cobra beat a Z06, then the Z driver sucked. I'm sorry fellas, the Cobra is a great car with lots of power, but it weighs too much. It will have a tough time beating a stock C5. If your brother has an intake and exhaust, and he drives good, your history, especially once he hits over 100mph. Look at power to weight ratios!!! Also, to make it fair, he should be able to put on a supercharger too

What's not fair. It would be two cars with blowers, not just one. That's my point exactly. I love Ford, but I think they should try and compete with naturally aspirated motors. Superchargers are fun, but I think should be reserved for the aftermarket. If I put a SC on my C5, I will be running 500+ hp. I plan to do this soon with a Ligenfelter package.
