He probably means it has a solid rear axle as opposed the the IRS that the 99-04 Cobras have. It's a good swap if you're into drag racing. Aftermarket parts are a hell of a lot cheaper than the IRS.

Ask him if he knows why the swap was done and what else has been done to the car. To be honest I wish my 03 had a solid rear axle.

...You should be able to look under the car & determine if the Cobra has an IRS or Solid Rear Axle...or tell them to put it on a lift for inspection!

I'm looking at the same Cobra you are. Sonic Blue, right? Thing looks clean from the pics. Almost looks like it has a lift kit on it, though.

First off, thanks to everyone! I was amazed by the reponse I got. I'm leaving the Honda scene and you guys are great! Ill look into the mach 1 rear ends to find out more info. It is the sonic blue cobra. Located in roselle? (ignore spelling) But now that I know I have competition on buying the car.... Give me ur address ha ha. Just joking. I don't know if I like the seats in it though.

I rather have the IRS, but that's just me. My car sees more of everday driving in the spring/summer then the track. I prefer the ride quality of the IRS over the SRA. If you are going to be going to the track alot the SRA is good, but I have seen guys run 10s in an IRS cobra with just bushings replaced and brace. OP where at in IL are you?
