Default Power Steering Whine

Do you guys know why my Power steering pump is whinning. I'm thinking it's going to puke shortly. I heard that the PS pumps from FORD are notorious for making that whining noise and I also heard they puke out on newer models. My V10 truck w/ 150,000 miles does not have that whine. The cobra has 75,000 and sounds like if I have a turbo set up. My cousin thought I had a supercharger when I rolled up to his crib but I mentioned I didn't and he said my PS pump is going bad. He's a big mustang guy. This is my first Mustang after selling my 1968 Cougar.

Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

The bearings in the pump go bad... Not uncommon...

he claims it hasnt affected it at all...if the pump ever did you then you just wouldnt have power but you could still manually turn it...i assume it hasnt been changed cause it hasnt hurt anything and we dont know exactly what it is...

Thanks guys for all your help, this site really ROCKS!!!

I have warranty from the dealer I bought it from so they will replace the Power Steering Pump free of charge. Also, I asked them to change the clutch because it feels so damn hard. I'm getting a major workout on my left leg only

Thanks again guys. I love this car even more knowing there are knowledgeable people out there who are willing to help. I will surely return the favor.
