Default Header gasket replacement

On my 98, do i have to raise the motor? Work from underneath? What is the best solution. A buddy said he thought i would have to raise the motor out to do it? Is this correct? Also what gasket for the BBK long tubes? Ford OEM?
Let me know !
Thanks

Just go with the Ford OEM gaskets. Thats what I went with when I did my ARH longtubes. I went to my local ford and ordered them for I believe $20,

you will have to raise the motor to get enough room to move them unless u have a tube k-member. im using ford gaskets too on my bbk long tubes with no probs but people that ive spoken to that run those soft metal one, like percy's have never had prob with them. they are re usable.

ive always heard the ford ones are better...ive done 3 sets of long tubes now and the way that i thought was the easiest is to drop the k member and support the engine with a strap and hoist or jack and jack stands...it makes it so much easier to do it that way.....if you want or need more details let me know

Sure let me know.
Also fo you guys with longtubes i have a quick question.
I have checked and I cant find any leaks or anything with the exhaust. I was looking because of the noise the car makes when it gets into higher RPMs. Just curious if it is normal for long tubes. It sounds like an "empty, tinny" sound the higher the RPM go down by the collector in the long tubes. Is this normal?
Just curious
Thanks

i had the exact same sound on 3 different cars and its just different because of where the longtubes end more so under your feet instead of the shortys in the engine bay....look a week later if you see a bunch of black crap then its leaking or do a cold start and look for exhaust steam from it but it sounds like its just the header sound...
