Cobra tail light swap help
Ok so I have a 2001 Cobra that I swapped out my ambers for a set of the all red tails. I wanted to install a sequential kit and have them tinted which I did. The swap went ok. They light up, brake and the sequential kit works. I used the GT harness that I got with the lights also FYI. Now the problem that im having is when I use the blinkers, all the rear lights flash. It looks like my hazards are on when you use the blinkers. Now I know that the cobras have a separate turn signal feed cause of the amber signals. Im guessing I need to combine the turn signal wire with the brake feed wire? I have searched endless for info and have yet to find someone who has done this. Alot of people have done the opposite by putting cobra tails on there GT's, etc. Does anyone know what color my turn signal wire is or have any ideas at all. PLEASE I need this figured out ASAP.
I don't believe you can just wire in the turn signal wires to the brake wires because when you hit the brakes and turn on your turn signals, you will just get your brake lights, and no turn signal. I had a friend tell me that with Cobra's it's hard to do that swap, and that if you wanted the sequential lights, you can only do the brake lights, not turn signals. The only reason I'm not doing what your doing is because of that complication.
I have been told by this website that does sequentials that it can be done. This guy said that he used to have info on it but his computer crashed. He told me to search for it and there is a write-up on it out there. I havent found anything yet. When I use my blinkers and everything is flashing in the rear if I hit the brake pedal everything stops then when I release the brake pedal they continue flashing again. Its like its confused between whats the brakes and whats the blinkers. I did try switching flashers but that didnt do a thing. On that same website this guy said that you could use a T connector trailer harness to separate your signals. There was no info on how to do it but aparently its possible. He said there is a way to wire them thats easier than getting more hardware. Here is part of the post.
"Using a "T" controller for trailer harness can be used to re-route power from the Euro 4-WIRE system to the US 3-WIRE system."
I did order one just to see what happens. I have no idea what to do with it though????

the turn lights and brake lights are both majors and running lights minor
you may need a new socket for each bulb that has an extra wire or some kind of relay switch (suprised that didnt work)
it appears your tail lights are wired together
i use to be really into this kinda thing, i had so many lights on my old truck some legal.... some not lol
i may be able to help you, so when you take your tail lights offs tell me how many wires are going to each bulb and what colors?

No the major slot is empty from the factory. The sequential kit requires you to put the white wire that came with the kit in that slot. Just in case, here are the pics of the wiring to the seq. kit.
