96-98 Cobra

96-98 Cobra
I am in the market for a 96-98 Cobra. Originally I was looking at 99-04 GT's, but if I can find an older cobra for the same price with the nicer motor. I figured I should go for it.
I have intentions of supercharging whichever car I get...eventually. From what I have read, the stock motor can handle around 450hp. But if I were to go with a Vortech system, I can get 484 hp right off the bat. So whats the deal with that? Could I run that system or will it toast the motor?

Just by skimming through some of the threads on here. Alot of people were saying the Mustang Cobra is good for 450 horsepower. Then on the Vortech website, their H.O. system claims to put down 484 horsepower. I am not sure if that is crank or wheel horsepower though.

Probably crank.

Ahh I see. Well id just be looking for a reliable setup. At the moment its hard to tell whether I would get H.O system, or the regular system. Or if I would even get the Vortech. But I have just been shopping around to see the options.
Say I were to get the regular vortech system, which claims around 440 horsepower. I could run that system on a 96-98 Cobra with full boltons, and no problems? It would be completely reliable with a good dyno tune?
