96 cobra and i recently took the shifter out to change my throw out bearing.... before i took it out every gear was fine..... upon reinstalling it 5th gear and reverse are hard to get into..... it even feels like it locks it out sometime.... example usually in neutral you can move your shifter left and right.... it wont move right sometimes.... idk what i could have forgot....seemed to be pretty straight up install. but any help is appreciated

did you replace the fluid that spilled out when you took the trans out? Is it at the correct level? When you pulled the shifter base off did the little plastic cup come out with it? If you lose that it wont feel very well

yes replaced the tranny fluid and put 3.6 quarts and the bushing.... so idk whats goin

just figured out the problem..... ashamed to say when i took the shifter out the first time i couldnt find the bushing so i just replaced it but it was sitting at the bottom of the shifter making it hard to get into gears =(

so you had two bushings on there? lol

at least the problems fixed.

well it poped out the first time i took the shifter out so it was laying to the side making it impossible to put it in gear

I am having the same problem with my shifter I have to force it into first or second and when is a neutral it just wants to go to the right instead of in the middle I read where are you put two bushes in there are you talking about the cup at the bottom of the shifter because mines doing the same thing that your was doing
