Default Need header help!!

I am looking for a set of shorty headers for my 96 Cobra and i cant find anything reasonably priced. I know ford racing used to have a pair but all i can find now are only for the 2V.... Any help would be great. Thanks!

The gains with a short tube header compared to a factory exhaust manifold on this cars is so minimal it is not even worth the labor intensive PITA on a 4v engine, if you are going to do headers get the mid-length or long tubes.

still even with longtubes not really worth it till you get up round the 700 hp range its more of a sound mod then a power adder

I wouldn't say that. My longtubes helped me put down some pretty stout numbers for a non ported/minimal bolt on car.

Well the problem is I live in Cali.... I currently have long tubes on the car now but i need it to pass Smog. I figured if i could find a set of shorty headers and use the stock H pipe setup i could get by the visual.... I would just hate to go back to stock manifolds!!

Woah there, I disagree 100% on this one. Last winter the only mods I did besides suspension was long tubes and an offroad x. Compared to my stock manifold and offroad full length x I picked up 22rwhp and 14rwt. 20 wheel horsepower is a good gain, I re-tuned after the long tubes because my tune was riching out after the exhaust change.

Well if you are ditching the long tubes you have the same whoes with the labor so if you can find a cheap set of shorties I guess you can go with it, but its not much of a difference from stock manifolds.
