i have a 1999 cobra that has a knock on the passanger side of the engine.....it only does it when you let off the gass....it still runs great and sounds good just whenever you let off the gass it has a knock that last for about a second....any help in what direction to look would be great or if you had one that did this????what did you find out

 

I had a similar knock with my 97 Cobra - turned out to be a spun #4 rod bearing. Thats on the passenger side. I figured it out initially by disconnecting the plug wire on each cylinder on the passenger side, then starting it up... the noise went away on #4. The teardown confirmed my fears.

 

going to go try that and see what happens

 

just trided that didn't do anything but when i got done it made a clank then died....now it won't start.....could it be the timing
