I just sold my 05 gt an purchased a 2003 cobra. It has a 2.8 pulley..tune..hurst short throw shifter...drilled slotted rotors...borla exhaust...larger intercooler....what should be the next mod?? I want a jlt cai..which jlt is better?? Is a throttle body worth it?? I'm also running the stock eaton blower. I'm planning on getting the cats off..which is better or h/ pipe or the xpipe?? How much power is expected by taking them off?? Plus what type of piwer will the throttle body give??

bought my car with similar mods. 2.8 pulley, JLt Cai, tune, heat exchanger, and bassani catback, dynoed 441whp, and 460wtq, about average for the mods. i also had a 3v mustang and the cobra is a different animal.

 

you're not kidding...my 3v was putting down around 340-350rwhp....and its not even in the same league as this car...its amazing to how much of a difference there was...this engine in the cobra's should be stock for the s197's lol

....I've owned BOTH JLT intakes...I sort of like the RAI because of the easier install! ...My next MOD (in your car) would be a brace for the IRS!!!!

You will gain alittle power from the o/r x or h but you wont really notice it. You will notice the sound and roar thats for sure. Again not much power from the throttle body, both together i would say 20-30hp. Both are good mods and the cobras respond well to almost everything. Make sure you at least get a handheld tuner for your car or you will be missing out on the power your new additions can give you. Like tim mentioned also, time to start worrying about the IRS and the brace is ussually the first step.

 

Im jealous! I want a cobra so bad! lol Or a kenne Bell Supercharger for my GT..arg

yep i do have a sct tuner also...the borla's sound great but i want better sound so the cat's have gotta come off...i do have pics on my phone but i have always had trouble getting pics here on this site. the cobra i got is black with a black top...18in saleen chrome wheels...9 on the front and 10 on the back...with 315 series khumo's...past 4yrs of mylife i've been with a 3v...this 4v motor is new to me and learning bout this cobra is completely new...so i'll take all the advice i can get...i do want a styling bar to go on it also

 

are you getting the light bar or the styling bar? if you find a light bar thats less than $429 let me know, I am about to get my light bar here shortly.

 

i'd just take the sytling bar..i don't wanna spend an arm and a leg
