So today I noticed that my eaton charger is louder then normal. Just wanna know what I need to do before it becomes a bigger issue. Do I change the oil or bearings or could it be something else. Thanks in advance
Have you ever done any maintenance on your blower? Its recommended to change the supercharger oil around 100k miles (get the oil from a Chevy/GM dealer...half the price and the same stuff...at least in my neck of the woods it is). I doubt the oil would make it sound different, but you never know. For anything but an oil change, you should probably have a shop certified to work on superchargers inspect it. Could also be a pully or idler pully bearing going out...they'll also make a whining noise, but obviously not as loud.
could be numerous things like bigphil said...could even need to rebuild the eaton...if you find out that the eaton is shot please just throw a KB or whipple on there lol
