Thanks for the response guys. I may have to check it out. I am going to try and get up there Friday to do a little test drive. There are not too many Cobras around here that look like this one with low miles. Most are usually modded to hell and driven hard. I have my GT to beat on if need be. I am 46 and looking for a nice clean car I can enjoy driving that looks good. I have seen the light bars and they look really nice on these cars. If the wife approves more to come I hope.

FloridaLivin there says a lot of what I would've said. Driving anywhere with the top down is my zen moment. I drive it open in anything from about 50 degrees on up and love it. The only concession to heat that I make is to put a towel against my back on really hot days, to keep the sweat from soaking the seats. Other than that, there's really no such thing as 'too hot' in my mind. I laught at all the weenies in convertibles with the tops up on hot days! And Arizona isn't nearly as humid as it is here, I have to imagine your heat will be much more tolerable than the heat here...

You really need to take it for a test drive, on the interstate if possible, with the top down and cruise a bit. I've never considered a Mustang convertible to be a girl's car. Certainly not a frickin Terminator!! The real difference is that a man will drive with the top down and the chicks always seem to have them up, no matter how nice the weather is...

About the comment above that convertibles come with SFCs already on, can anyone confirm that? I've not heard that and I've been sitting here with SFCs as the first mod on my list for the new Cobra...

oh and PS, I paid $25k for mine from a dealer as well back in December, it had 20k miles on it at the time. It now has 28k miles! of those 8000 new miles, I'd say about 7900 of them were top down! HOOAH!

Right on brotha-
Couldn't agree more.
You might want to try a wind deflector (if you haven't already) to help with the temp- you will be surprised how much A/C or heat the car retains.
The only time I am NOT top down is if its raining!

Default Do it!

I own a 96 Cobra vert that had only 15,900 orig. miles when I bought it 2 years ago - THAT was the main reason I bought it. I wasn't wild about convertibles, either, having owned one years ago and dealing with a beat-up, leaky top. But since I live in SoCal, a convertible is a no-brainer. I was just cruising PCH with the top down, giving the Vortech a good workout, and it was awesome! When the top is up, you'll totally forget you're in a vert. Bottom line - if you can pick up a Cobra with low miles - hardtop or convertible - DO IT!

I think it was mentioned already to go with full length subframe connectors... I would just add to that to have them welded in place. Also, if your car is lowered like mine and you have to come into your driveway at an angle due to curb clearance, you might want to consider strut tower brace (three point) to help with chasis flex while you slowly make your way up the curb... plus they look nice
