Default s/c oil

i have a kenne bell mammoth 2.8H on my motor. its over 12k now and i read one place thats about when you want to change the s/c oil. i've also read that it can be put of for 20k, 30k, and even 60k.

so my first question is what is the real recommended time to change? and then what oil is recommended?

of course kenne bell recommends their $13 8oz bottle from lucas oil. i read some where a while back that redline race oil works all though i cant remember what weight. and the only other s/c oil i've seen is GM's which i dont want that in my car.

my car usage is mostly just street driving, but i did spend a summer in the high desert with very hot temps, ambient and engine(had some thermostat issues that made me over heat more than once), also this was on an engine break in if that matters at all.

the smaller kb blowers must have different drain setup then the 2.8. in order for me to drain mine when i had it i would have to remove the blower from the lower mounting plate
