Exclamation ******wont start******HELP

So the last week or two the car has been starting hard, kind of like it didnt want to start but it always would.. Went out today and it turns over but wont start.. it maybe got to about 200-300 rpms the first try then died and just turns over now. I did drop the key in a small puddle of water a couple weeks ago and when trying to start it the theift light blinks. Think I should just replace the key? or should I be looking at a fuel pump or something else?

Since the theft light is blinking, it seems like your key is the problem. Do you have another key you could try?

could be a combo of your key and maybe possibly your fuel filter? my car had a little trouble turning over and staying on every once in a while so i changed out my fuel filter since it was the cheapest and easiest option at the time and that has done the trick so far. took me maybe 10 minutes max to change out the 15$ part.

Once you got the clips off, how hard is it to pull those lines off the filter? Mine seem to be stuck !

You have to go to your local auto store ans get some fuel line disconectors. Its like a 3$ part. I want to say its a 3-8" one. If you go to oreilly auto parts i want to say it was a yellow disconnector because they were color coded. If you still are unsure what im talking about it just look up mustang fuel filter change ans theyll show you the supplies and a walkthrough

I'm in the same boat, just had Ace cut two keys and f up one, so I will be programming tomorrow after work and doing the fuel filter.
