Default Getting a Cobra

Hey guys, I'm coming over from the import scene and I'm pretty much dead set on a '96-'99 Cobra (test drove one and fell in love)and wanted some info.

How are Cobras for maintence? We have a v6 stang and it hasn't been too much trouble.. save an oxygen sensor and temp gauge.

MODS. The import scene was great for all sorts of mods and I was wondering what type of performance parts I could get for a Cobra. I've been spraying nitrous for about a year now... is that a NO NO in the Ford domestic world?

Thanks in advance for any input. (Current Car - '02 Toyota Celica... awesome looking, but I feel girly pushing a 1.8 econo box)

they make every part imaginable for the 32V DOHC. good motors, you can juice em, just be careful, as with any motor.

i have a 98 cobra right now. bbk x pipe, flows w/ dumps, mac intake, pro 5.0 shifter,i put all those in myself, with a little help due to mustang motorsports. But a cobra is great, you'll love the take off and racing and just the speed. but now remember, a lot of people make fun of mustangs, untill they get one. if you get a cobra, you will be hooked on them forever. if u get one, it def. won't be your last. as for the nitrous goes, i've never ran it, seen a lot of mustangs with it though. good luck

you are right on the moeny about the Cobra's. I just picked up a 1993 SVT Cobra. Its my 4th Stang but this one really stands above the rest! Its a completely different animal & ride all together. This one was a real rare find in all 100% original, stock condition & it GOES!!! I cant wait to get started on it,...

whatever cobra you get, it does not matter. just make sure you stick some aftermarket parts and beef it up. supercharger for sure, better suspension, better rims, and so on... i do not understand how anyone can leave a car completely stock unless its just for someone like a collector who never drives it.

By my car, $25,000

What kind of forced induction is popular? Supercharger or Turbocharger? Also, how do you guys feel about the handling of the Cobras? My Celica, though underpowered, handles through corners like it's on rails. Lastly, what kind of times are the 305hp and 320hpCobras running stock in the quarter?

one more thing.. I'm gonna have about $13000 to spend off the bat for the car. That's enough to get atleast a '96 Cobra in good condition right? It's been tough finding those Cobras around here with less than 100k miles.

If you get a 32V motor. The sky is the limit for hosrepower. Also the same goes for a 2V. But the they are all great motors. Good luck.
