Default Headers worth the expense?

I'm sure this has been beat to death somewhere on this site. I just can't find it. Thinking of adding long tube headers and xpipe. Not sure catted or not. If I go catless do I need a tuner? Should I just do the x pipe and forget it?

long tubes give gains. long as you don't have smog regulations than id do it. in California its usually not worth the head ache. so smog legal shorties are the way to go if thats the case.

if your gonna d o long tubes headers be prepared for a louder engine drone. but I know wide open throttle they scream and they will increase performance. make sure you do your research before selecting them. Hooks makes great ones

Do you have to pass smog tests to get plates?

If not you should be good.
