Default 98 Cobra

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=blue size=2>I Just got a 98 Cobra coupe about a month ago and I wanna get it ready for the track soon, I need some advice on some tires though. It's lowered 2 inches with eibach springs and tokico 5 spring adjustable struts, it's got 18 inch y2k cobra R rims with toyo tires, 4:30 rear end, x pipe, borla side exhaust, headers, and a bigger mass air, and underdrive pullies and ripper shifter B and M. . . OK with all that I obviously get NO TRACTION lol, 1st and 2nd are all wheel spin, it's not until the beginning ofthird i get traction. So far only races I've done is I raced my brother with his 00 lightning, and I beat my friend adams GTP which ran a 13.5 at the track, and I smoked an SS but he was whining at the light that he had no clutch or something and his car just rev limited when it winded out of 1st, damn chevys lol. . . but any tire suggestions and prices would be appreciated! Also I'm selling my 96 GT convertible, check out the post for that in classifieds</FONT><IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"> The guy told me it ran a 12.9 as a best run and he said it will run a 13.1 all day, is that pretty good for what it's got done to it?<edited><editID>Venom1</editID><editDate>37998.4608796296</editDate></edited>

If he ran a 12.8 he must have had some slicks. With what is done you would need a 1.60 sixty foot time to run that time. And with your gearing it is going to be hard to get traction.Your are also going to run into problems getting a larger tire under the wheel-well because you lowered he car 2 inches. Try atleast to get a 275 or 295 Drag radial. Honestly I don't think you are that quick. I would say around 13.5 is going to be your best. I hope you prove me wrong good luck and have fun at the track.

well those 18's are too big for the track because the tire just won't have the sidewall to flex..so either used a slick or find a used set of 16's for the track

<FONT color=blue>Well keep in mind, I have the 17 inch Cobra R's on my GT, I could do a rim swap just for the track and it would probably be a little cheaper for drags on that, I think I was gonna go with BF goodrich 275s thank you guys so much for your input though and on the pictures of the car to</FONT></P>
