03 Cobra Blower Whine
I own a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra. My question concerns the blower whine. As I go through the gears, I can hear the blower initially then the whine stops as RPM increase with no drop off of boost.Shifting to the next higher gear, the whine comes back than disappears again as RPM's increase. From the in car videos I have seen in the various Muatang Cobra forums, I notice that the blower whine does not drop off and remains quite audible through all RPM ranges. Is my supercharger not functioning properly?
I'm thinking it myght be a boost leak also. I tried the boost bypass trick described at the RPM Outlet web site hoping it would make a diference, no such luck. I'm glad I bought the 100,000 mile warranty! Thanks you your guys. Black04cobra.... does your blower whine remain constant under boost donditions?
Thats really strange, mine gets louder as the rpm's climb. I don't really know how a boost leak would cause the blower to stop whining either, i'd lean more towards the fact that your belt is slipping. Check the belt and see if it is really worn out, or if you can see alot of blackish dust around the blower and on the inside of the hood, those are good indicators your belt needs tightend.
