straight pipes
Has anyone put straght pipes on a snake? Like no H or X, but 2 seperate pipes running to the mufflers. I found out I do not have to do emissions where I live, so the cats are gone for sure. I want to keep the mufflers, so I do not get noise ordanance tickets. Thanks for the input!
Bad idea...believe it or not, you'll lose hp. Or so I hear. It's compicated to explain, but it makes sense. See if this helps.

You need the crossover pipe to help balance the exhaust pulses. So an h or an x is neccesary to see horsepower gains. H-pipe will give you the more muscle car sound, and x pipe tends to be a little raspier.
A Friend of mine Put straight pipes (no mufflers and just cats) on his 02 GT. It Sounded, for lack of a better word, Like Sh*t! He also tried no cats and factory mufflers... that sounded like dook as well. It made the car sound like it had something wrong with it... i can't even begin to describe how crappy it was... don't do that... if u take the cats off atleast put a catback system on first!
