Default modifications for the 03

hello, im getting an 03 cobra soon and am planning what mods im going to do to it so i can shop around for prices and such. anyway my questions are:</P>

-what exhaust is the loudest and gives the best hp increase for around say 700?</P>

-what pulley do you get, and where?</P>

-what 'chip' do you get, where, and what does this do exactly?</P>

forgive me for my ignorance but im a newbie at the muscle car scene and dont really know my stuff yet. thanks for the help.</P>

Although I am a C5 Vette driver, I know a little about what can be done. You can put on a smaller pulley which will give you more boost. That seems to be the most common mod. Good luck with your purchase. </P>

By the way, I have a client in Chicago and have been to Naperville. Your town has one of my favorite restaurants, which is Rosebud's.They servesome of the best Italian food I have ever had.</P><edited><editID>DontEvenTry</editID><editDate>38027.3739699074</editDate></edited>

So what would a blower pulley, underdrive pulleys, intake, and no mufflers with cats get you?

If you get intake, exhaust, pulley and chip you had better have it dyno tuned, because if your A/F is running too lean it will destroy your engine.

You'de pick up some hp with a good tune...but you wont need it. You can get a chip made specifacally for an 03 cobra with cai, exhuast, pulley, and chip. But I still dont think your af would be lean...the 03 comes with a very capable fuel system, so as long as is maf is working properly, it shouldnt run lean at all.

oooor you can go to upr.com, and I believe a few other people have the, and buy a VENOM kit, includes a offroad X maga or flows cat back, custom burned chip, custom s/c pulley, cai, and a few other things, and I guess with this you'll be pushin 490ish to the wheels, and runnin 11's with tracting, btw the kit is 1k you would be a fool not to buy!

damn this is an old post....but i cant beleive it missed this...underdrive pullies on a supercharged car would slow the blower down, and you would lose losts of boost

If you want around 700 hp with an '03 cobra, you might have to do the following: add a smaller pulley, exhaust, MAF, chip, air filter, throttle body etc. which will get you around 450-500 rwhp. However, in the recent issue of MM&FF, they revealed that the stock eaton m112 blower maxes out at approximately 500 rwhp. this could be a problem for you wanting to make 700 hp. A sensible decision could be to add nitrous, a kenne bell blower or a procharger to arrive at 700 horses. then keep in mind the tuning problems, fuel requirements and smart octane levels to prevent detonation. Hope this Helps.
