Default DFW Area Shock/Damper Installers

DFW Folks,

who do you use for shocks/dampers/lowering springs installations? Can a muffler shop do it or does anyone know of any shops near/around Keller/N. Richand Hills or Haltom City that does?

thanks,
dan h

You can do it yourself with some basic tools and a rented spring compressor. Get on youtube and do a little searching and you'll see it first hand.

Do any of the videos include replacement of the strut mounts? (i've searched youtube but have yet to find a specific video for our 2011+ cars which require strut mount replacement). Do you happen to have a specific link?

thank you,

Dh

This one shows the install of a coil-over set, but standard springs install the same way. The strut mount is called a top plate or a bearing plate in the video. If you install new ones, just swap in place of the old ones. You'll get the basics of the process.
You can skip from 7:56 to 22:30. Sorry bout the ads.
