If they put a 4 banger in it there will be trouble

I think they should've used a Focus or even Fiesta platform to make a little, light 4 cylinder EcoBoost RWD coupe.
A RWD Ford Puma to go up against the MX5/Miata.
I know the Fox body had a 4 cylinder turbo, but still.

If the 4 banger is offered it's makes no difference in my book. It's the same as a V6 as I see it....I wouldn't buy one. But there are a lot of woman that probably will sporting it with some nice mpgs as their reasoning. As far as no replacement comment.....yes their is, it's called technology. That's why the coyote is so amazing for a "little n/a 5.0".

A small engine fire or overheating issue from a totally different engine in a completely different chassis shares no commonality with what is going to be put into the 2015 mustang! Remember that the Ford Focus ST is pushing almost 300 HP at the crank, and it's blowing almost 20PSI STOCK!!!! from the factory. I see absolutely no point to this thread other then pure speculation like 75% of the other stuff on here.

One thing to remember. At least half if not more of the Mustangs sold are generally the smaller displacement engines. If Ford didn't have those sales they might decide that it wasn't financially worth making a Mustang at all. Yes I own a V6. Couldn't afford a V8 or the insurance that went with it. Rather Drive a v6 Mustang than a v6 Camry. When I'm driving in city traffic light to light, looks is more important than speed. My 2 cents.
