headlights aim

headlights aim
I am a new member with a 2017 V6 convertible. FYI back in the day I had a 67 coupe, a 69 coupe and recently I restored a 69 Mach 1 (now sold).
My question is regarding the HID headlights. These are the only thing about the car I don't like. The factory aim seems WAY too low and due to the light/dark line driving at night is almost impossible in the hilly area I live in. I have done as the manual says to check them and moved each light adjusting screw up 1 1/2 turns above the factory setting. That has helped but still not to my liking and I don't want to go too far and blind other drivers.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how far up did you adjust the screw?
Thanks and glad to be a member,
Howard

Hey, I thought this video from Ford's site might be helpful:

Should at least help you determine what the right level is and help avoid blinding people.

I agree they are plenty bright below the cut off line but completely dark above it. Coming up on a small hill ten deer may be standing on it and I would not see them until I started up the hill--too late!
I guess the answer would be driving as much as possible with the high beams or driving my Escape with halogens at night. If I had test driven the car at night I might not have bought it.(even though I am a Mustang guy)
Thanks for all your input,
Howard

The thing with the HIDs is that they have to be aimed lower than halogen lights or they will blind everyone on the other side of the road. Probably what you're fighting, but I live in a hilly area and don't notice that. But I'm not looking out for deer, either. That's what high beams are for anyway.

A guy flashed his high beams at me thinking mine were on, I flashed back and he realized, I was on low beams. My lights seem to be perfect for me, but then again, perhaps as others have suggested, mine is a tad on the high side if folks think I have high-beams on.
It passed inspection... and I can see at night... Two very important factors that work for me!
