Exhaust

Exhaust
To start, I will become an S550 owner on Saturday. I love everything about the car except one thing, the exhaust is horrendous. I've contacted multiple people at Ford and continue to get different answers. I want to put an exhaust on my new S550 ASAP but one person told me I can only do a cat back, and one person said anything short of a full exhaust is fine, and one man said Axle Backs are fine. I don't want to do anything to void my brand new warranty, any answers? Don't mind dropping the extra cash for a catback, but honestly like the axle backs better anyways.

You are going to get 40 different opinions on this ranging from horsepower gains to sound and what manufacturer. Who do you believe? When you hear a Mustang you like, stop the guy and ask him about his exhaust. I like Borla, Borla makes Ford Racing's exhaust and you can get it in several different configurations from cat back to axle back, with and without resonator, with or without x-pipe. You can get three different mufflers with 3 different sound levels. It goes on and on. Trust me, you gotta hear for yourself in person before you will be happy with the results. Listening to them on a computer just doesn't do them justice. If you just want a little more sound, go with the axle back. If you want the all out **** off your neighbors and get tickets, get the cat-back resonator delete attack series.

I would leave it stock for at least 10,000 miles.
Be sure to save what you take off.
When going to sell it some buyers want it stock. I am one of them.
Congrats on new Mustang. Break it in gently for first 1,000 miles.

See my previous post where I indicated that listening to them on the computer doesn't do them justice, at least for me. Personally, I can barely tell the difference when listening to all the different systems from Borla's and Magnaflow's websites. When I first heard the GT350 system on YouTube, I wasn't really all that impressed. Now that I own one and get to listen to it everyday, I really love it and wouldn't change it for nothing.
