Yep. A lot of times its a rolling eyes kind of reaction to a lot of rumors. So very often you have to consider the source of that rumor. Speculating about possibilities isn't trying to pass hearsay or conjecture off as truth. More often its about reviewing what the possibilities are based on the past and present. When you read these speculations put out there by industry reporters who follow the trends as a part of their life, its an easier pill to swallow.

If you use the HP ratings for the 5.2 Voodoo as your given example. Knowing the car was detuned. Leaves a lot of wiggle room for the owners to retune their vehicles to their liking. Again allowing some speculation about further possibilities.

This also opens the door to the aftermarket which we all know has always been a healthy arena for our vehicles.

Also if you don't like what you're reading you can simply ignore it or rebut with your own speculation. If all you wanted to do on an open forum was read the details after the facts... there really wouldn't be a need for this type of social medium. You could simply go on facebook and chat it up with your personal circle of friends.

Yuppers, my 2 cents

Just to add to the rumors... it was released in the typical sources 3 days ago that again a Ford insider leaked that the GT500 is still in the works with a 740HP target for a 2017 model year. Not based on the 5.2 liter Mill. So maybe an evolution of the Trinity Mill.

A straight line brawler with the Hell-Cat in its sight.

Just saying

That's funny, those rumors has been around since July and the car they were about turned out to be the GT350.

The skeptics said the same thing about a 600+ HP GT500 coming out when the Boss 302 came out.

Occasionally that fabled unicorn does show itself.

I'll add PONY.... If those rumors were saying that there is a high HP boosting Mustang that is not the VOODOO GT350.... Then its highly likely there is another car in the running to follow the GT350 series. Who knows.... until you do know...ya really don't know.....

The GT350 sounds awfully tempting at this point. Erik

In my case ... if the configuration is really going to be as claimed when it hits the selling floor, then for me it is a very wise purchase. Simply because unlike the Boss 302, this variation of Mustang will come with a list of goodies that would be quite an investment to tack onto a base Mustang GT Premium. Whereas the Boss 302 performance was achievable and even exceeded with some key upgrades to a Premium GT... and for the same cost or less.

The value here is the wider track, the better aerodynamics and of course a very unique powerplant coupled with the Tremac tranny and the custom treatments will really set this car apart and when compared to other cars... provide a tangible measurable value for your money.

Without really needing to invest more into performance mods.

Its sort of like a canned solution for a performance minded tuner who's needs are primarily addressed with this trim level.

Well, looks like Car and Driver has confirmed...

Ford Performance is the newly announced innovations division that will combine SVT, RS and Ford Racing under one umbrella.

So perhaps the badging on the new 2016 GT 350 will change a bit before it's actually goes on sale next year.

Brilliant move on Ford's part. Moving forward there will be a purposely funded division to continuously push for innovations and proof of concepts that will trickle out to the other divisions.

Sounds like the bring back Mercury Division theory I brought up in a long since locked down thread.

Hmmmm

Except for that part where they're not bringing Mercury back.

That wasn't a requisite just a suggestion.... In Fact I also suggested they call it Jim5.0 or JZ.

Either way...

Its happening.
