SYNC 3 Will not Update
I just picked up a 2016 Mustang GT Premium and it has the Nav/SYNC 3, version 1.0. I have read through the Ford online articles on how to update it to v3.0, but I can't seem to make it work.
I've tried both the USB method and the WiFi method of updating the software. When I insert the USB stick, it says device detected and tried to index it, then does nothing. No message to say it's starting or in the middle of the update.
WiFi connects and I make sure it auto-updates, but again - no message, and no symbol that it's downloading. Tried sitting around for like 30 minutes, shutting radio on and off and such. No dice. There also is no manual update button like I've seen in some videos. Attached some images here.
Any help in getting this updated would be appreciated. Thanks!

I did mine about a week ago, '16 GT premium Cali Special, was on Sync 3 version 1. I updated it to version 3 for the Android Auto support.
I gave up on the wifi method. Had it connect to my home wifi, but never saw an update come through. so I went with the USB method. The instructions are misleading. The Ford owners site and others suggest you simply extract the files in the folder and copy the one main folder over to the flash drive. But what you actually need to do is copy everything inside that main folder and put them in the main (root) directory of the drive. It started updating as soon as I inserted it into the usb port of the car.
Hope this helps.
