Cammed LS1 vs. Sprayed GT
I have a buddy that is one of the biggest GM nutswingers I have ever met. He has a 2000 Camaro LS1 that put down 340rwhp on a Mustang dyno, I forget his torque numbers. He has a stalled auto (4000rpm stall), 2.73 gears, Nitto DRs and LCAs.
I am in the process of getting my car up and running again. I have a 2000 GT. It will be a stalled auto (3800rpm stall), 125 shot, 4.10 gears, LCAs, Nitto DRs and full exhaust.
Without knowing what my car will put down on the dyno, who do you think will win? I would love to beat him because he has dogged my car ever since I got it and since he is a HUGE Ford hatter it would be awesome to beat him. I'm guessing I would put down anywhere from 335-345rwhp and a lot more torque than my buddy.
Who wins?

you both are going to be praying for traction at that high of stall on stock width Nitto DR's.... just saying
if you go from a stop it all depends on who's DR's stick the most IMO... your spray could actually be a hindrance with it's major low end torque combined with the high stall, 4.10's and very meager traction mods
from a stop... my money is on him... from where I am sitting you have too much of a low end power setup and not nearly enough modifications to apply the given power to it's fullest
from a 40 roll I would say you would pull on him pretty good (3-4 cars) with the gearing advantage combined with the fact you will have practically instantaneous power through a very tight RPM band and he will have to chug up to his given specified RPM range for his cam out of his powerband (40MPH roll and his gearing are super bad for him)
that is just my opinion though

Funny you say from a roll it's a drivers race because we are both autos, can't really mess up there
to put it into the playing field I have a 4L65-E with substantially better gearing than he does (3.55's) and my friends stock mach 1 will put about 1-2 cars on me from a 40 roll to 100MPH... from a stop, 20 roll or 50 roll I'll pull on him about 2-3 to the same speed... the GM auto's are the devil for 40MPH rolls
a higher roll in his powerband and he may just edge you out as I am almost certain he has a higher top end than you do, it's all a matter of what speed your 4.10's lose their bounce and his lower gearing doesn't matter

. from a roll i'm gonna say it's a drivers race, with the stang edging him out.
