to put this into perspective... at the track yesterday there was a S197 GT with a 3.0L Techco blower running a geared/built rear @ 430RWHP through a dynojet hitting 11.8-12.0 @ 119MPH traps

there was a few S197 GT's in the 118-119MPH trap area with us yesterday... all with different FI types.... one with nitrous, one with a centi, and one with a twin screw... all of them were clipping 11's

I really don't see a new edge GT at these power levels pulling 117-118MPH traps... I also don't see the engine clearing above and beyond 400RWHP without problems shortly after

regardless of traps and dyno numbers... with the OP's setup? from a stop? the mustang is going to be a ways back

I am well aware of Kerns sig, he knows his limits... over 400RWHP is just asking for problems as I said before and I was also refferring to the OP's power levels, not kerns

he also has a properly setup car to actually put all this power down... he has a stack of additional mods over the OP's car, mostly traction based mods allowing him to grip

long story short, Kerns car IS NOT the OP's car

another little tidbit that I've went through before... he is the exception, not the majority

most new edge 2V's built around a blower are stuck in the low 12's... I've seen them here and there run 11's of dangerously close to and they are running mostly twin screws... however most of them consist of high stall 4 speeds on slicks and skinnies with seat deletes/trunk gut and a heavy foot

We aren't discussing the limits of a stock 2v's bottom end.

Well aware, but they do put down numbers that are pretty close to one another. I was also refering to the possibilities once Soldier gets his fuel situation figured out. I don't see why, given he was already running aftermarket cams, he can't make 400rwhp or more.

I already said that the OP would probably lose from a dig. I said it would be close from a roll. Said traction mods aren't really going to come into play from a roll.

True, but before the blower install, Soldier had the faster 2v.

YOUR POST JUST NOW

limits are limits... even snuggling up to 400RWHP is pushing it

I never once mentioned a roll in any of my posts... so I'm kind of lost as to how we are talking about them (I mean I know others mentioned roll racing or whatever but I stayed out of that stuff)

True, but before the blower install, Soldier had the faster 2v.
and after the blower install Kerns car will be faster than Soldiers car... it isn't that hard to see looking at both setups... just saying

then again. when I say faster I am ALWAYS talking about the strip for the most part... and I assumed that because this race would theoretically take place at a stop light that ET and traction should be looked at more that trap and top end

no harm, no foul... I just think I got brought into other peoples posts because I NEVER mentioned a roll... and I brought up limits because people were hinting at going above 400RWHP in a stock bottom end PI 16V 4.6L modular like it wasn't a thing

The M5 is a 4 door sedan, and does it bone stock. Just change the oil.

That's some impressive engineering.

Thought this post was dead, glad to see it's still going. I pretty much agree with all of you guys. I wouldn't stand a chance from a roll because with my suspension setup, sumiworthless tires and the 410's I'm all over the road if I really get down on it. After I get the BAP installed, redynoed and a couple more things done, I plan on parking it until spring. While it's parked got alot of little projects that I will be doing. Like upgrading the suspension and most def getting better tires. Hopefully by July of next year I'll have the MMR Block installed. Gonna put it on layaway after XMAS. The goal is to beat 500 RWHP by July/Aug, with a very good suspension setup. I'll keep you guys posted...

too bad the stage 2.5 kit (the one that will pull ford GT's and lambos with ease) is about the price of a used GT500

(taken from another person that bough the 2.5 kit)

Base price for stage 1 kits start at around $15k. The Stage 2.5 kit on my M3 includes a fully built motor and costs around $30k. They currently have a stage 3 available, and are working on a stage 4 kit that will make 900+ whp.
you kind of have to stop to ask yourself when performance per dollar just starts becoming laughable... impressive? yeah... but for the money I think it's less than impressive

this particular car hit 633RWHP with 30K invested ON TOP of a car that already cost him about 30K used

I dunno why people always claim superior engineering.. I think with the 90k price tag of an M5 it isn't all that impressive.. how does the CTS-V compare?

500hp 383tq on the 2010 M5, 11/17mpg city/hwy 4012 curb 88k price
556hp 551tq on the 2010 cts-v 14/19mpg cit/hwy 4222 curb, 60k price

and now we are talking about both new both luxury sedans and i'm betting the cts V is faster with better fuel economy right and saving 28k? but then you look like an old man in a caddy vs a douche bag in a bmw.. hmmz.
