Cool Scaring STI's

Have been only driving the car up the street and back a few times since I got it fired up. today I felt good enough about its condition that I took it for a good drive.

Drove about 35 miles, and about half way through my drive, a 2006-2007 STI pulls up beside me. I assume stock, as it still had the stock muffler.

We where going about 35-40mph so I decided to troll him a bit.

shifted into third around 3,000 rpm, and held it there for just a bit to see if he would bite. after just a second or two, I nailed it, and got out of it at about 5,000 rpm. so just a really quick burst. which was about 4 lengths with him maintaining his speed.

I did this three times to see if he would bite. on the third time of be getting beside him, I looked over at him finally and he had this huge grin on his face, and shook his head "no" as in "I don't want none"

I laughed and just drove normal. We cought a couple lights together and about the third one he had his window down I looked over and he gave me a "thumbs up" and said the car sounded sick. lol.

I goosed it a bit from the light, but he still wouldn't bite.

I enjoyed the rest of my drive. The car gets LOTS of looks with the new cowl hood and headlight covers, looks MEAN. The car also has picked up a noticeable amount of power, between the motor being rebuilt, a little extra compression from the different pistons, and the new victor intake manifold.

Real fun to drive, got some slight idle issues though. but I think I fixed them. Cleaned the MAF and I think my cold air intake was pulling in some unmetered air, as I had to re-adjust it.

Weather was crap the rest of the day, and today its supposed to suck. so it wont be until tommarow and the next day until I can drive to see if my idle issue is fixed.

YouTube - First start up of 2011

I'll post up the other recent video when I get home. cant get to it at work.

hopefully I will get someone soon that isn't scared to race. Track doesn't open for another week, and it will be packed so I will probably wait until the end of the month.

thanks for reading

I got a great deal on the victor intake, $350, plus I have a victor nitrous plate, So i kinda NEED that intake manifold, haha.

Yea I know it wouldn't have been a match. Maybe me playing catch up on the street from a dig. but I still would have caught him in a heart beat in that situation, haha

I just got the exhuast leak fixed last week and let me tell you it sounds and runs so frigging good. Still having a little problem at idle but I plan on getting dyno tuned again in the next two weeks. My exhaust leak was so bad that the tuner wouldn't touch it. With the exhaust leak fixed and the KB BAP, I better hit 400 +.

awesome.

Yea I would think it has 400 in it easy. at what RPM did it make 380?

I made 321 on motor before it ate itself. with the rebuilt motor, a bit more compression, and the new intake, im hopping for 330rwhp on motor

then comes the 150 shot
