A mazdaspeed 3 tried to run me today, I didn't cause I had my kids with me. Are those quick cars? This car had exhaust and a turbo with a loud blow off valve, not sure what else. This is the first time a car has tried to race me in years, so I was just wondering.

 

Depends on what he had done to it. Stock i think they're around 14 flat in the 1/4 mile.

 

They're pretty quick. They can run consistent mid 13s with a really good driver, intake, and turbo back exhaust. Stock MS3s usually run low 14s and or very high 13s. I had one for a few months, but quickly grew tired of it. The torque steer was horrendous, the gears are WAYYY to steep and with a small turbo dying at 5500 rpm, that was a terrible combo. They are very torquey cars however, and pull straight across the powerband as long as the driver can stay within the 2500-5500 rpm range. Your best bet is to catch one from a dig. They are nearly impossible to launch right. From a roll, I think you would more than have your hands full, especially once he gets into 3rd gear.

 

I had an 07 MS3. All I had into it was a CAI, Catless Downpipe, Catless Test Pipe, and a Bypass Valve... maybe $1200 total in parts.

Best 60' was a 2.0 on street tires (225's). Best trap was 105.85 MPH. It would take down cars that trap 108-109+ MPH on the highway.
