SCT + Apple

That depends on what you mean by "Compatible". If you have an Intel based Mac, you can use Bootcamp to dual boot in Windows or you could run the software in Vmware Fusion or Parallels. As far as I know there is no native OS X version. I have done both of these.
I do believe there is a version of software to be released for iOS in the near future. Perhaps that means SCT will stop ignoring the "Other" computer users in the world and start supporting OS X. Either way, I sure would like to data log to my iPad. So much easier than a laptop on the passenger seat.

If you have a running Windows machine or a installable copy, download Virtual Box and install the OS on that. Virtual Box is free and works great on Macs. I have one on here running an imaged Dell Laptop and one on my Linux server running my APRS station. To get the running Windows machine copied over you can download and install VMware Stand Alone Converter or use a Linux boot disk and create a DD image of the Windows machine drive. Copy the DD image or VMware image to your Mac and follow the directions for Virtual Box and that will put you in business. I love how my Macs just work, all the time, every time.
As far as running off your iPad, I don't think you have enough storage memory or RAM to run a virtual machine.
